It is the most exciting time of the year for college basketball as March Madness officially kicked off this week. The Brackets and matchups were set last Sunday, and since the start of the women’s tournament, it has been amazing basketball. The first round included upsets and dominant performances by the top teams in the tournament. One of the best parts about March Madness is all the schools get to experience their first “dance,” as it’s called, schools like George Mason, GCU, Arkansas State, and UC San Diego, just to name a few. In the first round, we saw six teams score 100+ points in a game, setting a new record. Along the way, we have also seen upsets like No.10 seed South Dakota State beating No.7 seed Oklahoma State and another No.10 seed Oregon defeating No.7 seed Vanderbilt. History is also being made for teams like TCU who are making their first “Sweet 16” with star Hailey Van-Lith continuing to make a difference. As quickly as the tournament started, we will already be looking towards the sweet sixteen after the conclusion of Monday’s games. Hopefully, everyone’s brackets aren’t too busted by then. Make sure to stay tuned as each round, the games will get more and more intense, and the personnel match-ups will be popcorn-worthy. All NCAAW March Madness games will be streaming on ESPN networks.
Rose Basketball Club Wins Unrivaled

Rose Basketball Club, at the start of the season, was ranked at the bottom on ESPN's pre-season predictions, but as the season went on, the team started to build. A team full of many characters, from fierce veteran Chelsea Gray to confident rookie Angel Reese, it was only a matter of time till they got into the mix against the top teams. For Rose player Chelsea Gray, this league was a chance for her to prove the doubters wrong after she said people were saying she had lost her juice. After an injury-strained WNBA season, many people were wondering if she still had it, even other coaches and players were starting to doubt her ability. So, as any competitive player would do, she set out to shut down those talks and ball out in the new league. The 3v3 style of play was perfect for the assist queen, and she was able to play to her strengths throughout the whole season. Towards the end, she kicked it up a notch, making sure to not only average more than 20 points a game but also set up her teammates for easy points and opportunities. This past Monday, Chelsea and Rose BC were able to get the 62-54 win over Vinyl. Chelsea finished the game with 18 points and eight assists, and she also was named finals MVP. She also proved that she still has it and is ready to get back to the top this season with the Las Vegas Aces. Overall, Unrivaled was an amazing experience for the fans and the players, and next season, we can expect more flare and intensity from the players who will be returning and the newbies.

This is the second week of NWSL season and each game has been just as intense as the first week. With teams having to prove themselves, there is no room for error. Each team fighting for the shield and championship. To think that there is still 23 weeks of match day weeks left. The first game was Friday March 21st when Portland hosted for Angel city and that game was a nail bitter from the beginning to end. The scoreline was 1-1 with both teams trying to score before the second half ended. On Saturday March 22nd, there were four games with the 1st game being NC Courage vs Seattle Reign. Seattle started off strong with scoring 2 goals and NC Courage only able to score 1. They were unable to tie or defeat NC Courage. The second game was Spirit vs KC Current and that was game where either team can be on top. With KC Current scoring both goals in the second half, it was an intense start with Spirit having 56% possession. Spirit were unable to score a goal and ended up with the loss. The 3rd game was SD Wave vs Utah Royals and San Diego was able to score 2 goals but their defense were not able to keep a clean sheet. Utah Royals ended up tying and they were back into the game. San Diego was able to score off of a goal kick and fought hard to keep it that way. The 4th game was Bay FC vs Racing Louisville FC and Bay FC came out on top 2-0. Both goals were amazing that no goalkeeper would have been able to stop them. Louisville tried to score, but ended up scoreless. On Sunday March 23rd, two games Chicago Stars FC vs Houston Dash and Gotham FC vs Orlando Pride. The first game was a close one with Dash beating Chicago 2-1. Even though Chicago scored first, Houston did not give up and ended up scoring two goals for the win. Whereas the other game Orlando came in hot and scored 2 goals.
