What a Labor Day weekend it has been for both NWSL and WNBA. Both leagues are having teams fighting for a place in the playoff. A couple of teams already in playoff contention, there is still more to come. Both leagues are still expanding with WNBA having 12 teams and NWSL having 14 teams.

Washington Spirit tied with San Diego Wave who are in 12th place. 7 weeks left before playoffs, anything can happen. Next game for NWSL starts on Friday September 6th against Angel City vs Seattle Reign.

WNBA

Rookie Angel Reese broke the WNBA single-season rebounding record. Even though Chicago lost to the Lynx, Angel Reese is still killing it with breaking multiple records as a rookie. There are still many games to go ,and she could set the record high to be difficult to break again. Just like the NWSL 8 teams, thought regardless of conference make it to post season playoffs. The first 5 teams have made it to the playoffs which leaves 3 spots open. If the Indiana Fever keep winning they can make the playoffs for the first time since 2016. This is crunch time for teams that are in the lower half of the table.
