On Friday for the final four it was UConn vs UCLA, where UConn dominated 85 points from UCLA 51 points. The UConn players were on fire and demonstrating that they belong in the championship. This was UCLA’s first time in the final four in their program history. Regardless on the outcome, it was a great accomplishment. The next game was South Carolina vs Texas, and they were neck to neck for the first two quarters. After half time, a spark ran through South Carolina and dominated the last two quarters. The final score was 74-57. The championship was set for UConn vs South Carolina. Now the start of the game was intense, the 1st quarter going back and forth until the end. UConn ended the 1st quarter with a 5 point lead. Similar to the 2nd quarter, and after 3rd quarter there was no turning back. After multiple attempts, South Carolina could not shut down their offense. UConn ended up beating South Carolina 82-59. Both teams did their best and this was UConn’s 12th championship since 2016. It has been a while and a well deserved win. Azzi Fudd and Sarah Strong both stood out both scoring 24 points. Paige Bueckers was outstanding scoring 17 points for the team. After going through a tough injury, this was an ending well deserved for Paige. Now she is to go to the WNBA draft on Monday April 14th, 2025. She is set to be the number one pick.

With NWSL taking a break for this week for the internationals team. The game in particular was USA vs Brazil. This game was intense from the jump. The physicality of both USA and Brazil are unmatched. The possession was practically 50/50 and Brazil fouled so much that 5 yellow cards were given. Trinity Rodman opened the score in the first five minutes of the game. It was a through ball through the penalty area and kicked it with the outside of her foot to the lower right corner. This gave Brazil a wake up call and try to tie it. In the second half, Brazil still attempting to tie it, they foul in the penalty spot. Heaps takes it and scores leaving Brazil with a deficit of 2-0. Even after Brazil trying to substitute and put in fresh legs, they could not score. Brazil still has a chance to redeem themselves on Tuesday April 8th when they play them again. There will be no shortage of physicality between these two teams. Without Noami Girma, Sophia Wilson, and Mallory Swanson the USA is doing very well.
