Unrivaled seasons begins

Dawn Staley gets her bag and NWSL trading frenzy

Dawn Staley gets her Bag

Dawn Staley is one of the Legendary women’s basketball coaches in college and has proven her worth by bringing three national championships to South Carolina in the 17 years that she has been there. Her loyalty and dedication to the Gamecocks are some of the reasons why the fans from Columbia, SC, love her so much. With all her success, there was no doubt that South Carolina would look to renew her contract, but this was no ordinary contract in fact, there has never been a contract like it. Dawn Staley Signed a historic contract totaling $25.25 million through the 2029-30 season. This makes her the highest-paid women’s basketball coach in history. South Carolina athletic director Jeremiah Donati said, “ Dawn Staley is a once-in-a-generation coach who made a tremendous impact on the University of South Carolina.” Dawn reacted to her contract by saying that she “is proud to represent the University of South Carolina and of its investments in women’s basketball.” it is amazing to see coaches get paid well in the women’s game just as much as the men. With the investment, the women’s game will grow. Now, later this week, on Thursday, Jan 23, Dawn and her team have the battle everyone has been waiting for as they face the undefeated LSU Tigers. Both teams are undefeated in conference play, and this game will most likely determine who will win the SEC regular season Championship, just like it has in the past three years. So tune in on Thursday at 8 pm E.T.

Inaugural Unrivaled Season Kicks-off

As mentioned last week, Unrivaled kicked off their inaugural season with a bang. The 3V3 league’s first three games were intense, and many games came down to the wire, with stars like Skylar Diggins-Smith, Kate Martin, and Dearica Hamby hitting game-winning shots for their teams. It was quick to see how quick the game is, with the three quarters only being 7 minutes long and the fourth quarter being played until a game point is made, the short quarters mean the pace of ball movement is elite. So many people tuned in to the game; even soccer legend Alex Morgan, who is an unrivaled investor, was courtside at the Mist VS Owls game supporting women’s sports and giving praise to Unrivaled Co-founders Brianna Stewart and Napheesa Collier for growing the women’s game with another amazing league. The next game day will be tonight at 8:30 and 9:30 E.T.
