Hello Gamechangers

It has been five days since the first events started for the Paris 2024 Olympics. As of July 29th, there has been 20 medals earned by USA, with eleven of those being earned by women that count looks like: 2 gold, 6 silver, and 3 bronze. Although you may not have heard of some of these sports don’t worry, that’s what we are here for. Below is a list of the eleven medals won by these amazing women athletes:

  • Foil individual (fencing, gold) Lee Kiefer

  • 100m butterfly (gold) Torri Huske

  • Foil individual (fencing, silver) Lauren Scruggs

  • Cross country cycling mountain bike (silver) Haley Batten

  • Synchronized 3m springboard (silver) K. Cook and S. Bacon

  • 100m butterfly (silver) Gretchen Walsh

  • 400m individual medley (silver) Katie Grimes

  • 4×100 freestyle relay (silver) Kate Douglass, Gretchen Walsh, Terri Huske, Simone Manuel

  • Individual time trial cycling road (bronze) Chloe Dygert

  • 400m freestyle (bronze) Katie Ledecky

  • 400m individual medley (bronze) Emma Weyant

There are still 13 days left until the Olympics are over! Which means there are plenty more medals to be earned and many more women athletes to celebrate. So stay tuned in with us on our X page for daily updates of what’s going on each day.

USA Women's Basketball Opens up Group Play Vs Japan

July 29th, USA basketball dominated against Japan 102-76. A’ja Wilson was the top scorer with 24 points and 12 rebounds. Chelsea Gray having 12 assists making her the ultimate playmaker. This win is the 56 consecutive Olympic win for USA women’s basketball! Their next game is August 1st against Belgium! USA Women also have a team in 3×3 basketball tournament which will start today vs Germany at 8:30 am pacific time.

Simone Biles and Coco Gauff Shining for the USA

Simone biles will be competing today for the Artistic Gymnastics team final at 9:15 am pacific time. Even though she is fighting a slight calf injury, she is still pushing on. The rest of her competitions will be August 1st, 3rd, and 5th. Stay tuned to more info on our X page @gamechange_her. Now for tennis, Coco Gauff will be competing today in the singles 3rd round. This is her first shot to win gold. In the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, she had to withdraw last minute due to getting Covid. Now she is more determined than ever to compete. Let’s gooo women!
